Serving With Ministry Partners

Eagles Landing First Baptist Church is not the only one concerned about meeting the needs of our community and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.  There are several ministries in our community that we have teamed up with to combat poverty, educational challenges, homelessness, and preserve and protect human life... all for the glory of Jesus Christ!

So, how will we respond to the challenges that our culture brings our way every day? Better yet, how will we respond to the “compassionate call” of the gospel every day?

Here are some specific opportunities and partners to help you and your family and friends answer that question—to respond to that call.

Action Ministries

The mission of Action Ministries is to mobilize metro Atlanta communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing and education. By meeting immediate needs and providing top-notch educational opportunities, our programs are designed to lead people out of poverty.

ELFBC's involvement:  Help build food boxes at Action Ministries in Atlanta for the homeless or under-incomed families.

Helping In His Name

Helping In His Name Ministries, Inc., usually referred to as "The Food Pantry", is an ecumenical, non-profit organization that provides temporary emergency help to the unemployed, the underemployed, elderly people on fixed incomes, and single parents on a biweekly or monthly basis. No one with a legitimate need is refused help.  Helping in His Name currently feeds more than 3,100 people every month who are in need.

Partners in Education

Wesley Lakes Elementary
Eagles Landing First Baptist Church serves as a partner in education at select schools to encourage and assist students and faculty with any pressing needs.  We have been involved in career days, reading encouragement days, faculty support days, after school programs, family fun nights, and combatting student hunger programs.  Contact Bruce Mewbourne with questions and volunteer opportunities.

We are partnering with Action Ministries through their SuperPacks Program to provide at-risk students at Wesley Lakes Elementary and Mainstay Academy with nourishment on the weekends, too!

LifeGroups and individuals can:

  • sponsor a student ($3 per weekend).
  • pick up the SuperPacks from the Action Ministries warehouse.
  • deliver the SuperPacks to Wesley Lakes Elementary or Mainstay Academy on Thursdays.

              Shoe Collection Drive

Would you ever think that your gently worn and used shoes could help support Calvary Refuge financially? Well they can and here’s how.  Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell, all we need is your support and your gently worn, used and new shoes.  We are looking for community members to help support us by agreeing to collect 25 pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes in the next 4 weeks. Here’s how you do it: Start in your family’s closets and gather pairs of shoes that you’ve outgrown, out of style, or out of season.  If you have 25 pairs, great; if not please ask your neighbors and co-workers to do the same. These shoes will help support our ministry as well as micro-entrepreneurs (small business owners) in developing nations like Haiti, Colombia and Tanzania. Can we count on you?  Please Help.

P.S If you can’t collect 25, then try for 5, 10, or 15 . Every pair helps.

Laurel Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

The body of Christ does not consist of one member but many.
(1 Corinthians 12:14)

We have many members of the body of Christ: children, youth, adolescents, adults, and senior adults.  All of the church needs to be edified and equipped for Christ's service.  We have an excellent opportunity to serve those advanced in years by providing a short devotional, a time of prayer, and music on Sunday mornings at 10:45 - 11:20 at Laurel Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  If you would like to receive more information on serving the residents at Laurel Park fill out the form below and provide us with your contact information.
James 1:27 reminds us that such service is pure and undefiled before our Father in Heaven.
Join us in a special time with the Lord and His beloved senior adults. Services are held every Sunday. See schedule below.
