October 2 Serve the City Impact Report
- Volunteers: 366 individuals from McDonough and Griffin campuses and ELCA
- Volunteers from ages 3 to 83 years old
- Served 3 local schools
- Washed approximately 150 windows
- Makeover of teacher break room
- Playground repair
- Prayed for educators and students
- 23 LifeGroups and ministries, including Griffin, served through 27 projects
- Ministry focused on area non-profit ministry organizations, 3 schools, first responders, healthcare & pharmacy workers, senior citizen center, foster children, single mothers and widows, and a public park
- Provided:
- 35 oil changes for single mothers and widows and served them lunch
- Sorted 20 pallets of non-perishable foods items
- 30 large containers of snacks for Piedmont Henry staff with cards of encouragement
- 30 boxed lunches to other healthcare workers
- Provided 15 backpacks with non-perishable food items for students at a local school
- 30 buckets filled with disaster relief products
- Snacks and drinks at local fire department/station
- 14 handmade blankets for children in foster care
- healthcare supplies for veteran’s museum
- Provided and planted approx. $400 of flowers and shrubs at local senior citizen center and shelter for youth in crisis
- Packed 310 packages of food for at-risk students
- Packed 85 food boxes for at-risk families
- Packed several hundred packets of school supplies
- Raised approximately several thousand dollars in support of projects
- Wrote 102 birthday cards for youth in juvenile detention system
In October, Eagle's Landing McDonough and Griffin sent out 366 volunteers were sent out through Serve the City! They represented 23 LifeGroups and ministries who organized 27 projects. Eagle’s Landing served 19 schools and organizations. Assuming 3 hours per project, Eagle’s Landing’s Serve the City provided approximately 1,128 community service hours, saved approximately $16,920 (median wage of $15 per hour) and met multiple needs in our community!
