Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church ( and Christian Academy ( are seeking God’s direction for our next Head of School. If you are considering the position or seeking to recommend someone, please take the time to look over this page as we introduce you to who we are here at Eagle’s Landing. Thank you and we covet your prayers as we seek our new Head of School.

Head of School Job Description

To lead Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) under the leadership of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the mission and vision of the school.

The Head of School faithfully promotes the school's distinctly Christian/Kingdom education among the personnel and programs as it impacts the educational and spiritual benefits of each student, faculty and staff member.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (a ministry of Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church)

Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) is a Christ-centered, college preparatory Christian school. Our highest priority is to communicate the mission and deliver results to the students with whom we are entrusted.

ELCA has its roots in the founding or McDonough Christian academy in 1970. In 1994, the Academy became a ministry of Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church. In the years between 1970 and 1994, the Academy operated as Meadow Creek Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian School-Meadow Creek Campus.

The school serves more than 850 students in grades Pre-K3 through grade 12. Our current enrollment comes from more than 614 family units, and we service 8 counties.

ELCA embraces a culture of academic excellence through a strong Biblical worldview which serves as the foundation of our academic program. Our expansive, standards-based PK-12 curriculum ensures that students receive exposure to a variety of disciplines preparing them to apply, analyze, synthesize and evaluate through a Biblical lens. Our K-12 alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the core content areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language, and technology enable students to incorporate a biblical worldview to reinforce mastery of core knowledge and Christian virtue. Our Excel, Honors and Advanced Placement programs offer the rigor and relevance necessary to provide our varied learners with the preparation for success after high school. These programs afford our students with an outstanding curriculum that enhances their skills in collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication to become Christian leaders in the 21st Century.

Our complete academic program affords our students opportunities to be competitive academically for admissions into some of our country’s top public, Christian, and private colleges and universities. Our students matriculate to Ivy League schools, renowned Christian institutions, prestigious public and private universities, as well as colleges and workplaces closer to home.  As life after Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy begins for our students, our prayer is that we have equipped them to experience success by using their God-given talents to impact others for Jesus Christ.  Blessed in a partnership with our ELCA community, we seek to grow and nurture our students intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually for life and eternity. The principal programs of ELCA are focused on offering excellent support for each student to succeed at a high level, a superb Fine Arts department offering many avenues for adjudication and performance, and Kingdom Athletics offering championship-caliber programs competing in the Georgia High School Association.

ELCA is also on the forefront of Christian education in providing diverse learning environments for all learners. One such area is our MERIT program (Multi-faceted Educational Resources and Instructional Technologies), which falls under the auspices of our Student Support Services program. It is through this cutting-edge program that we are able to provide college-prep curriculum to students who are not as successful in a traditional classroom. These students enjoy an environment conducive to their individual learning styles, allowing them to prepare for college and thrive.

Our church and school have seen great Godly leadership over the years. We look forward to seeing that tradition continue as we seek the next Head of School.

Overview of Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church

Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church (ELFBC) is a gospel centered church that exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God. For the past 30 years, our church family has been the city set on a hill to extend the hope of the gospel to this community. God has blessed us with the distinct privilege of being an instrument He has used to shine His light. Eagle’s Landing has focused on making Christ known in our community and around the world. The church has grown from a small mission congregation of 30 people to a multi-campus and multi-worship service averaging more than 1,500 in weekly attendance and 6,000+ members. In the life of the church, we have baptized 3,655 followers of Christ.

In 1994, the church assumed ownership of a local private school. At the time, the school had 175 students and was facing collapse. Since then, Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy has become one of the most vital ministries of the church. Today, the school has nearly 900 students enrolled with a staff of nearly 150 employees. ELCA is one of the premier private schools in south Atlanta as it continues to grow and expand its focus through Kingdom Education.

In 2013, Eagle’s Landing expanded its reach with a church revitalization of Teamon Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. The church moved forward with a major renovation and established Eagle’s Landing at Griffin that opened its doors on August 4 with a full house. The campus currently averages 200 in attendance on a weekly basis.

We are also driven to reach the world through mission partnerships and church planting. The congregation has been involved in 40 churches planted in the US and globally. Eagle’s Landing has sent 103 short-term mission teams with a total of over 1,300 participants around the world to share the hope of Jesus Christ.

Over the past 30 years, Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church has had a rich history of making Jesus known both locally and globally. We are excited about the journey ahead. This is our desire and prayer through this process, Matthew 7:7-8, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
