Annie Auditions

Welcome to Eagle's Landing's Production
of Annie: A New York Christmas.

Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church and Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy are incredibly excited about opening our church and school home to our community for another of our annual area-wide Christmas event. We are honored to present the classic broadway musical “Annie.”

You may be saying, “ANNIE?!?” For Christmas?!?

YES…“Annie” for Christmas.  The original Broadway production took place at Christmas and several scenes feature New York at Christmas time.  There’s even a song called “A New Deal For Christmas.” What better time than Christmas to think about those who are in need of our help.

Part of excitement is about our partnership with WinShape Homes Foster Care Program. Thousands of children throughout Georgia are without a parent’s protection and care. Our church has organized a foster ministry in our community with WinShape Homes. Parents and families from within our congregation ensure that a child in need is placed within a love-filled home that nourishes their development and relationship with Christ. WinShape Homes helps our church’s foster parents deliver disadvantaged children from harmful situations to healthy restoration.  We are using this production to bring awareness about WinShape Homes and to encourage families to get involved.

Finally, it is important to remember that at Christmas, we celebrate that God sent Jesus to be our Savior so that we could be “adopted” into the family of God. This production reminds us of how we are born spiritual orphans but by God’s grace He brings us into his family, just like Warbucks brings Annie into his family.  What a beautiful picture this is of our Father in heaven!

About the Show

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including “Tomorrow."

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
